Our FEATURE today centers on foreign trade and tariffs that has morphed into a trade war principally with China. The imbalance of trade between the US and China is truly unfathomable. In 1994 Robert Rubin was appointed US Secretary of Treasury and he immediately mandated a strong dollar policy which propelled China's GDP at the expense of a loss of US jobs and created the large trade deficit. We explore both the pros and cons of the trade phenomenon that exposes a number of surprises.
